It’s an honor to get to photograph a family as they grow and then meet the youngest member of the family. I photographed them when there was just the oldest brother, then when there were two of them, and now with the youngest sister. Kids will be kids and sometimes they don’t have a good day. Thus was the case with baby sister but we did what we had to do in order to finish strong. I always tell clients that “someday it will get better” when the kids are older and are able to understand what is being asked of them. But every age has its unique characteristics that shows the unique stage they are in.
Thanks to the studio space I now have I’m excited to start photographing newborns in my studio! Baby Kemper came in and he was a champ as he stayed asleep most of the time which gave me a great opportunity to try out different props and backgrounds with him. He’s so sweet right now……until his big brothers teach him to be a rough, tough boy!
I’ve known Julie for a while as we both suffered through bootcamp twice a week at the local gym with our awesome trainer. She decided she was in need of a family portrait in the fall so we scheduled her family session and worked on what to wear which ended up being a great assortment of jewel tones. I know that many clients are looking for ideas for clothing options for their family so I’ve created a Pinterest board with several family clothing ideas. Go check it out!
With kids you always have to let them play and be silly for a while and then work towards getting the family shots where everyone looks great. Thanks to the Norwood family for being great!
*Sigh*
I hear from so many mothers that it’s the most difficult thing to photograph their own children.
Add to the list “photographing your family.” That’s what I attempted to do, photograph my brother’s family over Thanksgiving. And the boys definitely gave me a challenge. Thankfully the little one doesn’t mind at all…..yet.
The best moment was when the brothers started playing together and not smiling for the camera but just having fun. After our photo session we all joined together for a great Thanksgiving meal outside in Waller, Texas. It was a great day!
I always LOVE seeing this little face!! I especially love it when she takes my hand to go walking with her. She’s such an unbelievably sweet little girl and she loves her mommy and daddy. We spent our photography session walking around and just having fun, just playing with little Baby Carroll.
