I can’t even tell you how excited I was to to fly to Hoboken, New Jersey to photograph this little lady! Two and a half a years ago I got to meet her big sister at her newborn session. So it’s a pretty special thing to get to photograph little sister. I packed a few backgrounds to use in their apartment and then spent some time at the park with the New York cityline behind them. It was a beautiful evening! And I’m so glad I had that special time to catch up with my friends and to play with big sis Ashley.
I see this cute little face every 3 months and now she’s 18 months old. I love getting to see her but I also realize more and more that we’ll soon be wrapping up her two year album and I’ll miss her! We met up at a park to photograph and I was excited to hear her saying a few more words. Once the rain started coming down, we paused and waited. But then went with the flow. Every session is different and can be so unpredictable!
A few of her previous sessions have included Easter bunny ears, Godzilla and her Lego city, mermaids and bath tubs, and overall baby cuteness.
Every spring I can look forward to seeing the Rappold family for their photo shoot and it’s been great watching these girls grow up. I love that they can play together like friends and they are so sweet to each other. It’s funny to see that we’ve moved past the days of using M&Ms as bribes. ๐ We’ve photographed them with tutus and cupcakes and wildflowers and water….what’s can we do next? We shall see!
Finally, the little man makes his online presence! The Schaaps had their maternity session several weeks in anticipation of his arrival. They weathered high brush and treacherous water (grass and a small stream) to get those maternity shots. And then I had the privelege of meeting him days after his birth. Surrounded by mom, dad, grandparents and canine siblings, we managed to get a great photo shoot. There was lots of cooperation and team work!
One of the things I always tell mom is to give baby a good feeding about an hour before the session so that he will be nice and full and then very sleepy for our session. I love getting those sleepy pictures at this age because that’s the most memorable part of them right now. Later on, parents only wish their child would go to sleep!
Yesterday we saw his momma and daddy in their maternity session and now we get to meet Evan! They brough Evan into the studio and decided to be very awake for us. But that’s ok, we roll with the punches. And then when he finally fell asleep, we got the cutest shots of him!
Thanks Erica and David for your patience at the session!
Now that I’ve moved into the new studio, I’m loving these studio sessions! Clients are able to show up and we don’t have to fight weather conditions or questionable lighting for the newborn sessions. You may think that the rain wouldn’t affect a newborn session but dark clouds equals dark houses. And I’m also able to offer more options for backgrounds and headbands because they don’t have to be transported anywhere. So many advantages to the in-studio sessions!
