The Woodlands Engagement Photography | Courtney and AJ

We’ll be seeing much more of Courtney and AJ but in the meantime here are a few shots from their engagement photography session!

We met up in the Tomball historic downtown area and had a great time just walking around and exploring. I love the hat that Courtney rocked! They also took a moment to practice their first dance which is a foxtrot – I’m so excited when my clients take dance classes for their wedding day.

Houston Photographer | 20 Years Together

It’s not everyday that this Houston photographer gets to fly out to Napa Valley to photograph anyone! Much less good friends that are celebrating their 20th anniversary! Yes, I did say 20th anniversary, not 20th birthday – hard to believe, isn’t it?

We think about the most popular times to get photographs taken (weddings, newborns, high school seniors about to graduate, etc.) and often leave out big milestones like a 20th anniversary. Too often people put it off until next year or after the kids are bigger or after the weight is gone, or (insert another reason here). Just don’t wait because that moment might never come.

The Woodlands Newborn Photography | Boesl Baby

Meet the newest member of my house church! Before to long he’ll be running around with the other kiddos in the group. We did his newborn photography session at home so that he would be more comfortable and he was quite a trooper! I heard about his birth today while he was in the office and I’m so glad that everything ended up great in the end and that he’s a sweet healthy little boy!

Lately I’ve been asked some questions about newborn photography sessions, and in particular the question has been, “When do you shoot newborn portrait sessions?”, or “How soon do you photograph them?”

Simply the answer is, “As soon as possible.” I feel that in order to capture the “newbornness” (I’m sure that’s a word in Webster’s…) I like to have them small and sleepy which is how you’ll remember this early stage of their life.
